The Shocking Statistics

In New Jersey, about 8 million of its residents are consuming contaminated water, this includes community and non-community-based systems. Why should we care about what's in our water?

Problems With New Jersey's Water

Upper Deerfield Township

It serves 2,463 residents and has been found to contain 31 total contaminants. The tap water provided violates federal health-based drinking water standards as assessed in 2021.

Multiple Departments

About 497 departments have been found to contain Total trihalomethane with the amount being above health guidelines. This means this cancer-causing containment is being served to 8,799,525 residents.

Contaminant Incidents

There have been 22,547 contaminants in New Jersey's tap water. This includes coliform, arsenic, and nitrate. These contaminants can cause major impacts relating to skin damage problems and an increased risk of infants getting ill.

Not Just Contaminants

In 2020, there had been a report of larvae being found in a homeowners filtration system. This is due to Trenton Waterworks having an open water system which causes algae to grow. This caused the small inchworms to feed on the algae that grew.

Why Should You Care?

Contaminants have been found to be served to millions of people. These contaminants are linked to a variety of health problems, such as cancer, infertility, damaged skin, and much more.
